Education and Appointments:

  Zhuo Tang was born in 1975 in Yuechi, Sichuan province, China. He graduated from Sichuan University in applied chemistry in 1997.

  In 2005, he received his doctoral degree in Chengdu Institute of organic chemistry, Chinese academy of sciences.

  Since the summer of 2009, Dr.Tang established his lab in Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese academy of sciences.

  As an active scientist, Dr. Tang has been presiding many scientific projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation  National Science and Technology Major Project. Dr. Tang has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals including Journal of the American Chemical Society, Nature Communications, Nucleic Acids Research, Angewandte Chemie. International Ed. in English, Scientific Reports. Besides, he holds more than 10 authorized patents and is focusing on the conversion of some of these patents to practical products.

Research Interest

  1> organic chemistry and nucleic acid chemistry: a. Bio-priming organic synthesis; b. Modified nucleosides/DNA Synthesis, Nucleic Acids-Catalyzed Organic Reactions.

    2> Chemical Biology: a. Development of nucleic acid probe and pathogen detection method; b. In vitro selection of functional nucleic acid; c. Poly-peptide display platform and its application in drug discovery.
