Education and Appointments:

XUN LIAO, Dr., Prof., is a member of the academic degree evaluation committee of the institute.

I graduated from Southwest Normal University (Chongqing, China) with bachelor degree in 1994, and Zhejiang University with doctoral degree (Hangzhou, China) in 2000.

My research fields include natural products chemistry and bio-analytical chemistry. I am interested in screening from Chinese herbs of active compounds with blood sugar /lipid lowering effects, and anti-Parkinson’s disease effect. Developing new analytical methods based on micro-solid phase extraction using new functional nano-composites another interest of mine.

My research has been continuously funded by grants from Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Department of Science and Technology of Sichuan Province, et. al.

Up till now, we have had more than 60 research papers published in mainstream journals such as Analytical Chimica Acta, Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Journal of Chromatography A, Material Science and Engineering C, and so on. In addition, we have filed 15 patent applications, among which 8 have been approved.
